Ale Trails
ROCHDALE ALE TRAIL - Due to be updated late 2026/early 2027
Prepared by ROCHDALE Business Improvement District (BID) team, this two page downloadable pdf (click the image to open separately), highlights the town centre pubs which served real ale at the time of printing. An update is expected which will remove Hoochi Koochi (still open but no longer serves real ale), and will instead include Mooody Blue. The CAMRA logo will also be updated.ALE TRAILS FROM PAST SOCIALS
This page provides maps, itineraries and other graphics that have been used over the past year or so, for social trips both within the Branch area and also further afieldWe hope they are useful in providing guidance, but bear in mind that opening hours, beers available, and transport timings will need to be double checked, as they may now be inaccurate.

Rochd’Ale Easter Ale Trail - Younger Members outing
Our Younger Members representative from the committee, Christine Dakin said “We would love some new faces to come to this tour of Rochdale Town centre pubs. You don’t have to be under 40 to join in,…Young at heart members are equally welcome.”
We met at 4pm in Wakey Wakey Brew Co Pop-up Tap room to say Hi to Anthony and Leanne. We had a beer, (there were even nibbles available), and worked out what order to do the other pubs in. A Collector Card was stamped in each venue to claim a free T shirt (while stocks lasted). The Branch Social WhatsApp group was used to keep all informed of progress.

Rossendale Ramble
This trail introduced a logo inspired by the Greater Manchester public Transport “BEE NETWORK”, which is intended for use where our trips use public transport in the Greater Manchester area.

Starting off at The Healey, Shawclough (447 bus from Rochdale at 12:03 arrives 12:11), after an hour in there we will catch the 13:11 447 up to Healey Corner then a 464 to Waterfoot to visit the Whitewell, the Serious Brewing tap house. Then back on the 464 with opportunity to visit the Whitworth Brewery Tap (opens 4pm) Whitworth Band Club, the Oxford and the Albion on the way back to Rochdale.
Along Chew Valley to Greenfield by bus
This trip was created by way of a tribute to our dear friend Ken Holt, who had recently passed away. Ken had served in a variety of positions on the Branch committee, and was Social Secretary for many years. The trip took in several pubs which were local to Ken’s home.

Meeting at The Clarence, Chew Valley Rd, Greenfield 12pm, followed by King William IV (King Bill) 1pm, Wellington 2pm and The Railway 3pm. Catch the 180 from Oldham Bus Station which drops you outside the first pub, then walk to each subsequent pub along the trail.
Whitefield and Prestwich
One of our 50th anniversary socials in the Whitefield - Prestwich area by tram. Meet at Besses o’ th’ Barn tram stop 12 noon.
